In the Community

Big Creek Lumber strives to be a good business citizen and contributor in the communities in which we do business.  Over the last several decades, we have been fortunate enough to enjoy a level of business prosperity that allows us to give back to the communities in which we do business.  Our contributions are wide and varied in type and scope, and we tend to focus our contribution efforts on areas where we can make a unique contribution, be it redwood materials for special projects, the expertise and equipment of our logging crew in natural disasters, or use of our land for educational and scientific purposes.

Some of the continuing community projects we support include:

  • Donations of redwood lumber and other building materials for numerous Life Lab garden projects,
  • Lumber donations to Shakespeare Santa Cruz and Cabrillo Stage for set construction,
  • Building materials donations for numerous local Eagle Scout projects, and
  • Redwood slabs for both the original UC Santa Cruz sign and its recent replacement sign.
